What We Do
The Loving Libbie Memorial Foundation provides relief to Central Texas children with cancer as they fight the greatest battle of their young lives.
The foundation was formed in memory of an amazing little girl named Libbie after she lost her life-long battle with leukemia at the tender age of five. She was showered with gifts during her illness, which made her feel special, but Libbie felt even more joy giving those same gifts away. So when anyone came to visit her, she had a gift for them…because to her, the real gift was in the giving.
Comfort Through Food Program
Libbie’s “gift of giving” continues through the Loving Libbie Memorial Foundation’s Comfort Through Food program. Children undergoing cancer treatment at the Children’s Blood & Cancer Center, Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas and Austin Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms enjoy macaroni and cheese, chicken and dumplings and cakes to celebrate milestones like birthdays and “no more chemo” parties! The program also supplies nutritious food for pediatric cancer patient events, including the annual Hungry Bunch Prom, Halloween Party, and Childhood Cancer Awareness Fair, as well as provides Thanksgiving turkey dinners to patient families in need.
The impact of a serious or life-threatening illness can be profound. In the Central Texas area, hundreds of children are diagnosed with cancer and related life threatening illnesses each year... and the number continues to grow. Please help us give these children a little daily comfort and make a difference in the life of children fighting cancer today.
